The vision of taking horses to an orphanage in Brazil began in the summer of 2008. In November 2009 the first team went to Brazil and the Horses for Orphans project was planted at the Betel children's home near Cocalzinho in the State of Goias. Currently there are 20 horses in the project at Betel and 30 boys and girls are studying the H-Factor System to improve their horsemanship skills and grow into a deeper relationship with God.
The vision of taking horses to an orphanage in India began in the summer of 2008. In February 2009 Richard and Ingela went to the South of India and planted the Horses for Orphans project at the 'House of Praise' children's home in Nagercoil in the State of Tamil Nadu. This project is not fully up and running yet.
The vision of taking horses to an orphanage in Mozambique began in the spring of 2005. In December 2005 the first team went to Mozambique and planted the Horses for Orphans project at the Iris Ministries children's home in Pemba. In June 2006 four horses were brought from South Africa. The project was turned over to Iris Ministries in 2007 and is now fully run by Iris.
Horses for Orphans endeavors to build the foundations of life into orphans and the underprivileged, to equip them to succeed in their personal and professional lives and come into a deeper knowledge of the love of God.
